APC State Chapters Pledge 15.2 Million Votes for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election

Eleven state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have collectively pledged to deliver 15.2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections, signaling a robust mobilization effort across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones. The commitments, announced by various state party leaders, follow the recent appointment of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new APC National Chairman on Thursday.

The North Central zone is leading the charge, with the APC Forum, chaired by Saleh Zazzaga, vowing to secure six million votes across Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau states. The pledge comes as a gesture of gratitude for President Tinubu’s decision to reinstate the party’s national chairmanship to the North Central region. “The President and the APC can rest assured that North Central votes are secured for 2027. Our promise of six million votes is guaranteed,” Zazzaga stated, emphasizing the region’s unified support.

In the South-South, Akwa Ibom’s APC chapter has set an ambitious target of 3.5 million votes, aiming to triple the votes Tinubu received in the 2023 election. The state’s APC spokesperson declared, “By the end of our registration drive, we expect no less than 3.5 million votes for President Tinubu’s re-election, driven by aggressive mobilization efforts.”

Similarly, in Edo State, APC Publicity Secretary Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie announced that Governor Monday Okpebholo has committed to delivering 2.5 million votes. “With mass defections from other parties and a growing membership base, our target is achievable. Other parties in Edo are no longer a factor,” Uwadiae-Igbinigie said, citing the APC’s expanding influence in the state.

In Benue, the APC aims to recruit five million members and secure two million votes for Tinubu. James Orngunga, the state’s APC spokesperson, noted that the party expects to surpass its 2023 performance, which was impacted by the Muslim-Muslim ticket controversy. “The President’s support for our people has shifted the narrative. He will win with a wide margin in 2027,” Orngunga affirmed.

In the South-West, the Oyo and Ekiti APC chapters have pledged a combined 1.2 million votes. Oyo’s spokesperson, Olawale Sadare, outlined plans to secure over 800,000 votes—double the 2023 figure—through door-to-door campaigns, media outreach, and social platforms. The chapter aims to register between 220,000 and 250,000 new members. In Ekiti, where Tinubu garnered 201,494 votes in 2023, APC spokesperson Segun Dipe expressed confidence in delivering at least 400,000 votes, citing the President’s performance and Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s achievements as key factors.

The pledges have sparked discussions on X, with supporters praising the APC’s organizational efforts while critics question the feasibility of the targets amid economic challenges. As the 2027 elections approach, the APC’s aggressive mobilization signals a determined push to secure Tinubu’s second term.
