It was a moment of great joy and celebration as residents of Abam community came out in large numbers to welcome Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, during his visit to Abam High School on Friday, July 25, 2025.
The visit marked the official commissioning of three newly constructed and fully furnished classroom blocks, delivered by Hon. Osonwa as part of his ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure across the constituency.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Osonwa expressed deep appreciation to the people of Abam for their continued support. He noted that any development brought to Abam feels personal to him, stressing that education remains a top priority on his agenda.

The federal lawmaker decried the deplorable state of some of the existing structures in the school, stating that no child deserves to learn under such poor conditions. Moved by what he saw, he immediately directed the reroofing of another block of three classrooms that had been abandoned for over 24 years.
In his address, Hon. Osonwa also commended the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, for always responding swiftly to issues affecting the constituency—especially the ongoing work on Omenuko Bridge, Nmouri Bridge, and the Abam–Arochukwu Road.
He pledged to continue pushing for more interventions in the school, including recommending the perimeter fencing of the premises and further rehabilitation efforts to restore the institution’s lost glory.
Also speaking at the event, the Councillor representing Ohafor Ward, Hon. Ike Okoroafor, thanked Hon. Osonwa on behalf of the community for his quality representation and for fulfilling his campaign promises.
This commissioning marks the third brand-new school project completed by Hon. Osonwa as he celebrates two years in office.
